What is on His Palm?
The following is encouragement for you as if Jesus Christ Himself was speaking. These are meant to give you insight into His Heart, how He thinks, and how He feels about you. Let this encouragement begin to dwell deep within you!
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands…”
ISAIAH 49:15-16 (NIV)
In this modern age, we are told that there are more communication links available than ever before; more ways to stay in touch. You might be flooded with emails, faxes, text messages, and more. Yet at the same time, the medical community tells us that loneliness and isolation are at an all-time high. Communication tools are better, but personal communications are worse.
My heart is burning to share comforting news with you from this passage of Scripture. I want you to know deep in your heart, mind and spirit that I have not made you to be cast aside, or forgotten, or unnoticed. The opposite is true. Your name has been engraved on my palm; it was not written by a marker or pen, not penciled in, not scotch-taped, not by the use of a post-it note. Your name is engraved, etched, branded, permanently written, and I see it every day! There is no possibility of forgetting you.
And when I see you on the palm of my hand, what am I feeling? Compassion, tenderness, care, concern, total forgiveness, and a clear vision of the exciting future that I have in store for you! If you could see my face, you would see a huge smile. If I had a refrigerator, your photo would be prominently displayed.
And what do I see? You, as a dependent baby. You, as a child. You, as an adult trying to find your way in today’s world. You, as someone I so dearly, deeply and intimately love. You!
Right now, at this minute, I am looking at the palm of my hand, and seeing you. You are unique and special, precious and valuable, of great worth and great importance. You are my child; I won’t, and can’t, forget you!
I really like you and I really love you!
PAUSE ... Quiet yourself in His love and invite Him to be with you.
REFLECT...
If this Scripture is true and your name is indeed written on God's hand, what size print is it? Is it in the center or in small print at the edge? Is it bold and underlined?
Rewrite … Are there any beliefs in your heart and mind that have to be “re-written” if the above encouragement is true?
Revive … In what areas (related to your own human core needs) do you especially need God’s compassion?
Redeem … Today, what would he say to encourage you?
RECEIVE...
Agree and thank Jesus that YOUR name is written on His hand.
