WEEK 1 - WORKSHOP ORIENTATION
WEEK 2 - TELLING MY STORY
WEEK 2 - TELLING MY STORY

The photo above of a bridge is a "word-picture" of us in the midst of troubled, churned-up waters, as we live our life in this world. Jesus Christ is on the bridge, extending His hands to us, inviting us to leave the troubled waters and come to a place of healing, comfort and safety next to Him. There is where we will find true comfort, and be able as well to see our lives, past and present, clearly through His eyes.
The only way to make this transition is to:
1) Begin to know more and more who Jesus Christ is, how He thinks, His view of me, what He might say to me if He sat next to me, and,
2) Begin to know ourselves more and more, to see if we have any blocks in our heart, thoughts, emotions, motivation and belief system (even sometimes hidden quite well) which prevent us from being able to know ourselves. Sometimes these blocks may disable us from receiving and giving love! These blocks, frequently from our past experiences, can also prevent us from seeking and knowing Jesus, or even wanting to do so.
THE TWO STATEMENTS ABOVE REFLECT THE GOAL AND PURPOSE OF COMFORT.GUIDE. THIS ENTIRE WEBSITE CENTERS ON BOTH OF THESE STATEMENTS!!!
Putting this another way, in this website we want you to have a clear understanding of how negative experiences can lead to a loss of core needs (such as safety, worth, belonging, effectiveness and significance) and fashion a destructive internal belief system in our lives. Such a system will control a person’s responses to life, their perceptions of themselves, others and God. We cry out to no one in particular and get no results.
However, crying out to Jesus as the person (now as someone we know!), who designed us to receive comfort and healing, is the answer. Our past and our current lives are re-written as we see our life through His eyes. As a result we have a fresh renewal of our minds and heart as we seek the mind and heart of Jesus for us.
