WORKSHEET
Telling My Story - Must and Should
A "WORKSHEET" is simply a way for you to look squarely at yourself and see where you are. Like a GPS system in your car or in your phone, you have to know where you're at, honestly, clearly and completely.
At the beginning of these worksheets, take time to pause and quiet yourself, breathing and relaxing as mentioned in the "HOW TO USE" tab. This is a great time for reflection as to how to care for yourself. Ask the Holy Spirit for inspiration and insight as you work through this worksheet.
In the “Week One Outline” we looked at the idea that “Thoughts, plus our Decision to agree with those thoughts, plus our Feelings, lead to our Heart-Beliefs and the corresponding action”. This particular Worksheet helps you to identify your personal heart-beliefs as a result of this process.
I learned that in order to be loved, I must/should:
* Have everyone's approval
* Please everyone
* Take care of everyone
* Be perfect
* Be attractive
* Be "nice"
*________________________________________________________________
I learned that to be significant I must/should:
* Have a "perfect" life (house, education, career, children, appearance.....)
* Be the caretaker of everyone else
* Be in control
* Be dependent
* _______________________________________________________________
I learned that to be safe I must/should:
* Never trust anyone
* Never admit to having needs
* Never share vulnerable feelings
* Never play
* Never let down my guard
* Never hope too much
* Have a significant relationship (e.g., a man in my life)
* _______________________________________________________________
