Wounded Hearts Think Wounding Thoughts
Wounded Hearts Think Wounding Thoughts
A "WORKSHEET" is simply a way for you to look squarely at yourself and see where you are. Like a GPS system in your car or in your phone, you have to know where you're at, honestly, clearly and completely.
At the beginning of these worksheets, take time to pause and quiet yourself, breathing and relaxing as mentioned in the "HOW TO USE" tab. This is a great time for reflection as to how to care for yourself. Ask the Holy Spirit for inspiration and insight as you work through this worksheet.

In the previous page ("EDUCATION - RECOGNIZING DIFFERENT VOICES") we spoke about hearing different messages and voices, and how to help differentiate them from one another. The purpose was to help you recognize God's voice better.)
Sometimes our thoughts come from freedom and are inspired by the heart and mind of God. However, at other times our thoughts and beliefs come from our own woundedness. This Worksheet will now build on that education, and help you distinguish your own thoughts from the types of thoughts and beliefs God would want you to have.
This Worksheet is designed to find out your thinking TODAY.
It is designed to help you see clearly your thinking about yourself, others and also God!
We realize you might answer these questions differently as you think, for example, about different people. What you want to identify, however, is your overall thought patterns.
Here's how to use this Worksheet.....
YOU
1) Whatever thoughts you have about yourself, such as "I don't trust myself", place the number "1" on each of the options below. You can place this number anywhere from the far Left, toward the middle, or to the far Right.
OTHERS
2) Whatever thoughts you have about others, such as "I don't trust others", place the number "2" on each of the options below. You can place this number anywhere from the far Left, toward the middle, or to the far Right.
3) Whatever thoughts you have about what others think of you, such as "They do trust me", place the number "3" on each of the options below. You can place this number anywhere from the far Left, toward the middle, or to the far Right.
GOD
4) Whatever thoughts you have about God, such as "I don't trust God", place the number "4" on each of the options below. You can place this number anywhere from the far Left, toward the middle, or to the far Right.
5) Whatever thoughts you have about what God thinks of you, such as "God does not trust me", place the number "5" on each of the options below. You can place this number anywhere from the far Left, toward the middle, or to the far Right.
Zero on the LEFT is a negative, 10 on the RIGHT is a positive. For example, on line 1, if you feel you are usually Mistrusting of Yourself, God or Others, place your number on the line closer to the LEFT. If you feel more trusting, place your number closer to the RIGHT.
It's best to do all the "ones" first, then start over at the beginning with all the "twos", etc.

PAUSE AND REFLECT!
* Note those thoughts that tend to be positive.
* Note those thoughts that tend to be negative.
* Are you surprised by your responses?
* Ask yourself how your thinking has had an impact in the way:
- you view yourself,
- you view your relationships,
- you view God!
As we continue in Comfort.Guide, listen carefully as to how God wants to transform and heal the negative thoughts with His comfort, while at the same time reinforcing the positive thoughts.
Now that you have finished the worksheet, its a great time to talk with Jesus about what has become more clear to you. As you do this, remember that He is with you, He sees you, He hears your call for help, He understands you with deep empathy, and His heart of Love intervenes to work all things together for good.
And a good conversation goes both ways, so be sure to then listen for all the insights He has for you! He will make the Scriptures you need come alive, He may use songs, He may use images, He may use "word-pictures", etc., all prepared especially for you and only you at this time of your healing and growth!
Hear yourself, and Him, clearly!
